Nifty tanks below 8400, Sensex falls 200 pts; IT, pharma down

The market is struggling ahead with IT and pharma stocks under pressure ahead of US President-elect Donald Trump inauguration.

The Sensex is down 199.45 points or 0.7 percent at 27109.15 and the Nifty is down 56.30 points or 0.7 percent at 8378.80.

About 948 shares have advanced, 1498 shares declined, and 278 shares are unchanged.

Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Asian Paints, Cipla and ITC are gainers while Axis Bank, ONGC, Tata Steel, NTPC aand ICICI Bank are losers in the Sensex.
