The market continued to see buying interest in noon trade with the Sensex rising 73.37 points to 25411.95 and the Nifty advancing 24.40 points to 7759.60. FMCG, private banks, technology and pharma stocks remained gainers while infra and metals were under pressure.NTPC, Sun Pharma, ITC, Bajaj Auto, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Tata Power, Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement and IndusInd Bank gained 1-3.5 percent while ONGC, Tata Steel, GAIL, HDFC, Cairn India and Bosch declined 1-3 percent.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices advanced 0.3 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively on positive market breadth. About 1216 shares advanced against 983 declining shares on BSE.
