Asia opens higher; Nikkei rises 0.8%, Kospi up 0.7%

Asia markets opened higher on Friday, following another record close in US stocks, and as investors braced for a data deluge from China.
In South Korea, the Kospi index was up 0.54 percent in early trade. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 added 0.8 percent while the Topix was higher by 0.68 percent.
