Sensex recovers, Nifty around 9500; Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, BHEL up

The benchmark indices recovered a bit in the afternoon trade. The Sensex was down 99.10 points at 30859.15, and the Nifty was down 11.85 points at 9499.55. About 1239 shares have advanced, 1276 shares declined, and 165 shares are unchanged.

Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, BHEL, Wipro were the top gainers, while top losers include Reliance Industries, Asian Paints, HDFC, M&M and SBI.
