The 50-share NSE Nifty was up 62.65 points or 0.65 percent at 9,728.45 while the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 266.62 points or 0.85 percent to 31,627.25.

TCS, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, Lupin and Sun Pharma rallied more than 2 percent while HDFC was only loser.
