Sensex declines 250 pts; Hindalco, Vedanta rally but IOC, BPCL tank

Benchmark indices remained under pressure, with the Sensex down 256.60 points at 32,017.07 and the Nifty down 76.55 points at 9,980.85.

About three shares declined for every share rising on the BSE.

Vedanta, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel were top gainers among Nifty stocks, up 3-4 percent. However, IOC, BPCL, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Bharti Infratel and Coal India fell 3-4 percent.
