Sensex gains 150 pts amid volatility; Fortis, PNB, SBI most active

Benchmark indices continued to be volatile, with the Sensex gaining strength in afternoon driven by technology, metals and select banking & financials stocks.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 159.10 points at 33,933.76 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 40 points at 10,418.40.
