The Sensex was up 128.13 points at 31156.34, while the Nifty was up 22.80 points at 9617.90. The market breadth was negative though as 910 shares advanced against a decline of 1,653 shares, while 158 shares were unchanged.
HDFC, ITC, and Cipla were the top gainers, while Sun Pharma, Adani Ports, and Tech Mahindra lost the most.
